Marketing that keeps your phone ringing
Overview

What we do & why it matters

Great marketing keeps your phone ringing. We handle advertising, social media, business listings, review generation, logo design, and more — all coordinated with your website so everything works together to bring in customers.

The services

Eight ways to get found, and be worth finding.

Each one has its own page with the detail, the process and what it costs. Nothing on this list requires any of the others, though several of them work considerably better in pairs.

Published prices for all of these are collected in one place. See pricing →

Where to start

If the budget is small, spend it in this order.

This is the advice we give on the phone, free, before anybody has signed anything. It is not the order that makes us the most money. It is the order that stops you paying for attention you cannot yet do anything with.

01

Be findable and be trusted

Listings and reviews first. If your hours are wrong on four sites and your last review is from 2021, every dollar you spend on reach is being handed to a customer who then decides against you. This part is cheap and it compounds.

02

Give them somewhere to land

A website that loads quickly and says what you do, or a single landing page for the one thing you are pushing. Traffic is only worth buying once there is something at the end of it that was built to convert.

03

Then buy reach

Now advertising, social and email make sense, because the people they bring in arrive at something that works and can check you out without finding four versions of your phone number.

Plenty of businesses arrive having done step three for a year. Usually nothing is broken except the order.

FAQ

The questions that come up first.

The service-specific ones live on each service’s own page. These are the ones about marketing generally.

For most small businesses: listings and reviews, then somewhere decent for people to land, then paid reach. The order above explains why. The exception is a business with a deadline — a season, an opening, a lease running out — where buying attention now is worth doing even while the foundations are still being tidied up behind it.

Not for all of it. Listings, reviews and social can run before a site exists, and a single landing page is often enough to start advertising against. But every one of them eventually points somewhere, and if that somewhere is a Facebook page or a competitor’s directory listing, you are building on rented ground. Most clients get a site sooner than they planned to, for that reason rather than a sales pitch.

You get reporting, and we will tell you which numbers on it actually mean something. Impressions and follower counts are the ones agencies lead with because they always go up. Calls, form fills, direction requests and new reviews are the ones worth watching. If a channel is not producing any of those after a fair run, we would rather move the money than keep sending you a nice-looking chart.

The modern versions of them, through Grapeseed Media: connected TV, digital audio, digital out-of-home, digital video, display and native, and the targeting and measurement that sits under all of it. We do not run that buying desk ourselves and we say so rather than marking it up quietly. Those channels also want a real budget behind them — ask us before you assume they are the right first move. Everything with your name on it. Listings are claimed in your business’s name rather than ours, your email list exports in a standard file on any day you ask, and a finished logo is yours outright. What stops when you stop paying is the work — the watching, the posting, the replying — not your ownership of the assets. Each service page spells out its own version of this.

Usually, yes, and it is a large part of what we do. The first job is finding out what actually exists — which accounts, in whose name, with which card attached to them. That audit is often the most useful hour of the whole engagement, and it is not unusual to discover a profile nobody has been able to log into for two years. We would rather start there than rebuild things you already own.
