Every way we know to put your business in front of somebody

Ten things we run ourselves — your website, search, landing pages, social, email, text, reviews, listings — and a programmatic partner for the channels that need a media buyer, not a marketing agency. This page is the entire menu, in plain English, with the honest bit included.

Advertising services from Techno Goober
Overview

“We need to do some advertising” is three different problems

Frank from Techno Goober

Almost everybody who calls us opens with that sentence, and almost nobody means the same thing by it. Before we quote anything, we work out which of these you actually have.

Nobody knows you exist. You are not in the search results, your listings are wrong or missing, your website does not say what you do in the first five seconds. Spending money on ads here is pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it. Fix the bucket first.

People know you and forget you. You get found, you get a look, and then the customer goes quiet and buys from whoever showed up next. This is a memory problem — a logo that sticks, a feed that is not abandoned, a video or a display ad that turns up again a week later.

People buy once and never come back. The hardest money you will ever spend is on a stranger. The cheapest is on somebody who already paid you. Email, text messages, review requests, repeat offers — this is the least glamorous advertising there is and it is almost always the best return in the building.

Most businesses have one of these badly and the other two adequately. We would rather tell you which one that is on a phone call than sell you all three.

What we offer

Ten services, grouped by the job they do.

Every one of these can be bought on its own. Most clients start with one, and add the next when the first is working. Nothing here is a bundle you have to swallow whole.

Getting found

The groundwork. If somebody goes looking for what you sell — on Google, on their phone, in a map app — these are the things that decide whether they find you or your competitor.

Getting found
Website Development

The one piece of advertising you actually own. Every other channel on this page eventually points at it, which is why we build it first.

  • Designed and built for you, not dropped on a template
  • Fast, secure, mobile-first and search-ready from day one
  • Yours to keep — hosting and support if you want it
Web development
Getting found
Search Engine Optimization

The traffic you do not pay per click for. Slower than ads and considerably more durable — the work compounds instead of stopping the day the budget does.

  • Technical fixes, on-page work and content that answers real searches
  • Local search and map visibility where it matters
  • Monthly reporting in words, not a dashboard export
SEO packages
Getting found
Landing Pages

A single page built for one campaign, one offer, one audience — with everything that would distract a visitor deliberately taken out.

  • Built to match the ad that sent them, so the promise carries through
  • One clear action: call, book, buy, fill this in
  • Tracked properly, so you learn what the campaign really did
Landing pages
Getting found
Listings Management

Your name, address, phone and hours, correct and identical everywhere a machine might read them. Deeply unglamorous. Quietly decisive for local search.

  • Dozens of directories, maps and data aggregators kept in sync
  • Duplicate and zombie listings hunted down and killed
  • Change your hours once, not forty times
Listings management
Getting remembered

Being findable is not the same as being memorable. This is the work that makes somebody recognise you the second and third time, which is usually the time they actually buy.

Getting remembered
Logo Development

The cheapest advertising you will ever buy, because it goes on everything else for the next twenty years — trucks, shirts, invoices, every ad on this page.

  • Original marks, drawn for your business, not bought from a stock library
  • Every file format you will actually need, including for print and embroidery
  • Colours, type and usage rules written down so it stays consistent
Logo design
Getting remembered
Social Media Management

The organic side. A month of posts planned in one go, written in a voice we wrote down for your business, and approved by you before a single one goes out.

  • Eight, twelve or twenty posts a month — captions and images together
  • Nothing scheduled without your yes on the record
  • A short monthly review of what worked, and what we are changing
Social media management
Getting remembered
Social Media Marketing

The paid side, and a genuinely different craft. Facebook and Instagram ads aimed at people who are not following you yet — which is the entire point.

  • Audience targeting, creative, and the pixel wired up properly
  • Retargeting the people who visited your site and left
  • Reported separately from your organic posting, so you can see what the money did
Social media ad packages
Getting them back

The list of people who already know you is the most valuable thing you own, and the most commonly ignored. Everything here talks to somebody who has already raised their hand.

Getting them back
Newsletters

Email to a list you own, on a platform nobody can take away from you and no algorithm gets to throttle. Still, after all these years, the quiet workhorse.

  • Written, designed and sent for you on a schedule you can keep
  • Segmented, so customers and prospects do not get the same message
  • Opens, clicks and unsubscribes reported honestly, including the bad months
Email newsletters
Getting them back
SMS Campaigns

Text messages get read in minutes, which makes them the best tool you have for anything time-bound — and the fastest way to annoy people if you overdo it.

  • Proper opt-in and opt-out handling, because the rules here have teeth
  • Best for appointments, cancellations, short windows and genuine urgency
  • We will tell you when a campaign is not worth a text
SMS campaigns
Getting them back
Review Management

Your star rating is advertising whether you manage it or not. This is the machinery that asks happy customers at the right moment and tells you the second a bad one lands.

  • Automated review requests after the job, by email or text
  • Alerts the moment something new is posted, good or bad
  • One place to read and reply across the sites that matter
Review generation

We quote all of it per business rather than off a price list, because what any of this costs genuinely depends on what you already have, how much has to be built from scratch, and how many places you need to be. Tell us which of the ten sounds about right and we will put a number on it before you commit to anything.

Everything else

Streaming TV, digital radio and billboards — bought properly.

There is a point where a small agency should stop pretending. Buying media across streaming television, digital audio, the open web and digital billboards is a full-time trading job with its own platforms, contracts and people — and a shop our size has no business claiming to do it in-house.

Frank pointing at a digital display ad on a tablet

So we do not. We partner with Grapeseed Media, a programmatic media firm with offices in New York, London and Los Angeles, and they run that side as a department behind us. They are deliberately platform-agnostic — not a reseller for one ad network — and they describe their reach as buying all ad types, on all devices, across 98% of digital ad inventory.

You still deal with us. Same phone number, same Goober, one invoice, one conversation. The strategy, the creative and the reporting come to you from Techno Goober. What Grapeseed brings is the buying desk — and none of these channels overlap with the ten services above.

Through Grapeseed
Connected TV

Your ad inside the streaming shows people actually watch — Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Chromecast. Television reach without a television budget or a cable contract.

  • Targeted by household, not by whoever happens to be watching channel nine
  • Unskippable, full-screen, on the biggest screen in the house
  • Completion rates reported per campaign — you see how much of the ad was watched
Through Grapeseed
Digital Audio

Radio, without the station. Spots inside music streaming, podcasts and digital talk radio, with a clickable banner riding along on the phone screen.

  • Spotify, iHeartRadio, SoundCloud, ESPN and CBS digital radio, podcasts
  • Companion banners people can actually tap
  • Reaches drivers and commuters — the audience nobody catches on Instagram
Through Grapeseed
Digital Out-of-Home

Screens out in the world, bought by the impression instead of by the month-long billboard lease. Change the artwork on a Tuesday if you want to.

  • Gas stations, convenience stores, malls, cinemas, salons, transit, taxis
  • Office buildings, bars, retail and schools
  • Footfall measurement — whether people who saw it later turned up
Through Grapeseed
Digital Video

Video advertising everywhere that is not a social feed — pre-roll and mid-roll across the open web, in-app, and YouTube.

  • Pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll web video, plus in-banner and expandable video
  • YouTube TrueView and bumper ads
  • Cross-channel video retargeting — the same person, followed across devices
Through Grapeseed
Display & Native

Banner and in-article advertising across the open internet, in places a Facebook campaign simply cannot reach.

  • Animated HTML5 banners, expandables and in-app mobile placements
  • Native advertorials that sit inside the article rather than beside it
  • Amazon display, Gmail ads, in-email banners, Waze and Yelp placements
Through Grapeseed
Targeting & Measurement

The reason to buy this way at all. Audience data and attribution that a self-serve ads manager does not give you.

  • Upload your own customer list and match it to households by CRM and IP
  • Location history targeting, household income, and Amazon purchase behaviour
  • Automated Content Recognition — reach people by what they are watching
  • Brand lift studies, video completion rates and footfall attribution

Why this is worth having behind us

  • No platform minimums to meet before a campaign can run
  • One media plan across TV, audio, billboards, video and display — not five separate reps
  • Most campaigns can be live within about a week of a brief
  • Reporting arrives with our name on it, in one place with everything else we do for you
  • They are not tied to a single ad platform, so the recommendation is not a sales pitch for somebody’s inventory
The honest bit — where we stop
  • We do not run the buying desk. Grapeseed does. We are telling you that here rather than letting you find out later, because you deserve to know who is actually touching your money.
  • These channels want a real budget. Streaming TV and billboards are reach plays. If your problem is that page two of Google is where you live, this is the wrong shelf — go back up to SEO and listings first.
  • They are not a replacement for your Facebook ads. Paid social we run ourselves, in ad packages. Programmatic goes around social, not through it.
  • We will tell you when you do not need this. Most of our clients do not. The ten services above solve the problem for the majority of small businesses, and we would rather keep you than sell you a CTV campaign you cannot feed.
Where to start

You do not need all of it. You need the right two.

Here is the order we would put things in for most businesses that call us, and the honest reason for each. If you already have the earlier steps handled, skip them — we are not going to charge you to redo work that is fine.

Frank giving a thumbs up beside a rising campaign results chart
  1. 01

Make sure you can be found and believed

A website that loads fast and says what you do. Listings that agree with each other. A rating that is not embarrassing. This is the part nobody wants to pay for and everybody needs. Every dollar of advertising you spend after this works harder; every dollar you spend before it partly evaporates.

  2. 02

Turn on the cheapest audience you have

Your past customers and your existing followers. A newsletter, a review request that goes out automatically after every job, a social feed that is not abandoned. Almost no media cost, and it is the fastest revenue in this entire list. Most businesses skip straight past it because it is not exciting.

  3. 03

Buy attention from people who do not know you yet

Now paid advertising is worth doing, because there is somewhere solid to send the traffic. Paid social first for most local businesses, on a real landing page rather than your homepage, with retargeting picking up everybody who looked and left.

  4. 04

Widen the net when the net is working

When paid social is producing and you want more reach than one platform can give you — a bigger territory, a whole season, a brand people need to recognise on sight — that is when streaming TV, digital audio, billboards and programmatic display start to make sense. Not before.

If you want the two-minute version of where you actually are in that list, call us and describe your last six months. We will tell you which step you are stuck on, and it is quite often not the one you rang up about.

FAQ

Questions? We’ve got answers.

Still curious? Give us a call — we don’t bite.

No, and almost nobody does. Every service on this page is sold on its own. Most clients start with one thing, see whether it works, and add the next when it does. If somebody tries to sell you an eleven-channel package on a first call, that is a sales target talking, not a strategy.

For most small businesses: a website that works and listings that are correct, then reviews and email. That combination is inexpensive, it compounds, and it makes everything you buy afterwards cheaper. Paid advertising into a weak website is the single most common way we see money wasted.

They are a programmatic media firm with offices in New York, London and Los Angeles, and they run the streaming TV, digital audio, billboard, video and display buying that sits behind us. We name them because you should know who is touching your money. You still deal with us — one contact, one invoice, one conversation — but we are not going to pretend a buying desk in Lewes runs your Roku campaign.

Management is the organic side: posts written and scheduled to your own followers, no media spend. Marketing is paid — ads aimed at people who do not follow you yet, with a budget behind them. They are different jobs with different costs, and we deliberately keep them separate so you can see what each one did.

Search advertising can be arranged, and for some businesses it is the right first paid channel. Ask us on the call — we would rather look at what you sell and what it costs you to win a customer than give you a yes or no on a web page.

We handle it. Logos, graphics, banner sets and landing pages all live under this roof, and when a job calls for photography or video we bring in a local professional we trust, which is mainly useful because the ad, the page it lands on and the brand it belongs to end up looking like the same company.

Less than you think to start, and more than you think to keep going. We would rather run one channel properly than four badly, and we will say so if the budget you have in mind cannot support the plan you are asking for. There are no prices on this page because quoting advertising off a price list is how people end up paying for things they did not need.

No. We are based in Lewes and a good share of our clients are on Delmarva, but everything on this page is delivered remotely and we work with businesses across the country. The programmatic channels in particular are bought nationally — geography is a targeting setting, not a limit on who we can help.
